The biggest weakness of RuneScape, which could also be its largest assets, is one used by nearly every other MMORPG: its sheer longevity. Between all the thrilling quests and OSRS Gold high-octane PvP battles is the endless grinding off of daily chores like fishing, mining or cooking to increase your level or gain credits to purchase that perfect new helmet or piece of armor. Gotta make money somehow, right?

Although these can be somewhat relaxing, it's an endless amount of time doing the same things over and again - time that could or might be better spent in a shorter but no less classic video games.

Instead of being a one-way battle, RuneScape is a painstaking combat that's difficult and long, and doesn't ever truly end. But it is extremely rewarding if you're willing to invest the time in it, which I was. At the very least, for a whole one or two years.

I haven't played many MMORPGs in the past, due to my constant sadness and regret. The demands of real life are immense and I simply don't have the time to allow them to seduce me. Out of all games they're the most time-consuming, having infinite levels to complete and items to gather. There have been deaths at the end or after of hours-long binge sessions of RuneScape's more youthful but famous sibling World of Warcraft This is what makes it a horror game.

In the present, you'll typically find me having fun playing Quake or Half-Life or playing Team Fortress 2 - games that come out in force, leave their mark and then disappear. It's great to be able to play something I like and forget about rather quickly, without worrying about how many logs of wood are on my shelves or Buy RS Gold where I'm likely to fish during tomorrow's session.
